Amanda Steeley: This is Amanda’s 4th year in Goochland County. Prior to teaching for GCPS, Amanda taught at The Faison School for Autism, in Richmond, Virginia, where she learned how to implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to improve learning outcomes and student behavior. Her favorite math teacher, Mr. Hayes, taught her that “there’s more than one way to solve a problem” and this truth is ingrained in her professional practice. She enjoys gardening, yoga, music, and reading; however, her greatest joy is working with other people. Amanda earned her Masters in Special Education – General Education in December 2015. She lives in Louisa, Virginia, with her husband, Todd, and their two daughters.
